Useful information
Everything you need to know before and after bringing your puppy home — plus how to recognise and avoid puppy-buying scams.
Before adoption
In a kennel, the risk factors are higher than in a pet shop, since we regularly have newborn puppies and must keep a sterile environment at all times. In-person visits are arranged safely only once the puppies are fully immunised. Until then, we're happy to arrange virtual tours, photos and videos of available puppies — just contact us. We also organise events where you can meet the puppies; follow our social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) or our newsletter to stay up to date.
Post-adoption care tips
Adopting a puppy is a joyful experience. These tips help your new family member settle in healthy and happy.
- Give your puppy a safe, comfortable space and time to adjust. Introduce family members and other pets gradually, supervising interactions.
- Keep a regular feeding schedule with premium, age-appropriate puppy food. Avoid low-quality food and human meals that may harm dogs.
- Keep the coat, ears and teeth clean. Brush regularly to prevent matting and bathe only when needed with proper puppy products.
- Make sure your puppy gets enough exercise with a regular walking routine to build muscle and burn energy.
- Start basic training (sit, stay, come) using positive rewards — treats and praise when they get it right.
- Socialise gradually: expose your puppy to different environments, sounds, people and friendly dogs.
- Be consistent with commands and routines to give your puppy clarity and reassurance.
- Follow your vet's vaccination schedule, deworm regularly, clean teeth and book routine check-ups.
How to avoid puppy-buying scams
Scammers exploit buyers who haven't researched breed traits, often using photos of young puppies that change as they grow. Protect yourself by knowing how we operate — and how we don't.
At Tiny Treasures, we…
- Never message you directly on social media from accounts other than our official ones.
- Have no resellers — we breed our own puppies and are the direct sales line.
- Never post our puppies on dog-finder sites or local/regional listings.
How to protect yourself
- Always use our verified contact details. Any other phone number is not us.
- Use secure payment channels. PayPal Friends & Family, MoneyGram, Western Union and similar transfers are not safe.
- Pay a registered business account, never a personal one.
- Confirm you're dealing with a legitimate business — check company registration or breeder affix.
- Be suspicious of prices that seem too low. Real breeding and transport costs are significant.
- Know that strict rules govern international delivery; promises of delivery in a few days are a red flag.
If you've been the victim of a scam, contact your local consumer-protection authority and report it to the police.
